Cake or Death?
It is yucky and rainy today and I am in so much pain. Not even meds help this pain. It started yesterday at the carnival we went to, and it's just gotten worse today. And I have so much cleaning to do (what's new?) but I just can't do it.
So, I haven't done much of anything today. The eldest walked up to the mall with a friend and the youngest just returned from a picnic with her Big Sister. I thought about going to get something to eat but I am so tired, I don't ever remember being this tired. I've been waking up even earlier than usual, around 3:30 in the morning and by the afternoon I am exhausted. And the pain isn't helping that either.
But, at least the kids are having a good weekend. We spent a small fortune at the carnival but the Drunken Midgets had fun and I got my mini donuts so I was happy.
I've been poking around the news a bit, mostly on Buzzflash but it all makes me so mad. Like the fact that only 3% of Americans support sending more troops to Iraq, but Bush doesn't give a shit, he's going to do whatever the hell he pleases despite what his constituents want. And no one is going to stop him. He's just going to keep sending out soldiers over to die in a war that never should have happened and no one is going to stand up to him and tell him to get down of his throne.
The Dems need to either stand up to him once and for all or stop grandstanding. They made all this noise before the election about no more blank checks without a troop withdrawal date attached, but they caved in the end despite all their grandstanding. That makes the whole party look bad. Granted, their job isn't easy, they have a lot to fix and a president opposed to everything their party stands for, but then they should have taken that into account before the bragged about all the changes they were going to make.
It almost makes me want to vote third party, but all that does is take votes away from the Dems and assure that we will lose and the Repubs will win. But, damn it, the Dems have to do something cuz they aren't looking much different from the Repubs right now.
I miss Paul Wellstone so much. He was the only one that would vote for what was right regardless of the political consequences.
I had the extreme honor of being able to work for Wellstone in the '96 elections and he was an amazing person. I was at a fundraiser for him and had to slip out early. Well, he was speaking and I tried to do it quietly and unobtrusively but he caught me sneaking out and stopped his speech to say good-bye to me and ask me if I had any questions for him before I had to leave. He was just so warm and genuinely sincere and caring. I really liked him a lot.
In other news, there really isn't much going on.

Evil Red Riding Hood
I'm so sad, my very favorite toy, the one I paid $80 for two months ago, is already broken and I can't find the receipt or the warranty. I'm also kinda pissed about that actually, cuz that is a lot of money for a product that only lasted two months. My last one lasted over two years.
Other than that I am just enjoying my last days before the kids are out of school. This is their last full week and they are done on June 7. And I don't start school till July 16. So, that's over a month of being home 24/7. I'm not looking forward to that. The fighting in the summer is pretty constant and I perpetually hear "I'm bored, I'm bored." Which, I don't blame them, I get bored too and I do as many free things as I can, like go to the pool, but there are only so many free things to do.
And we don't have any company coming this summer to look forward to. Last year at this time we were anticipating the arrival of our friends from France, whom we miss very much. But, this year we have no one coming to visit. :(
Well, my grandma is coming into town sometime in June to see the new baby, my sister-in-law is due sometime at the beginning of June, but I don't look forward to that as much as I look forward to seeing my friends. Although, we are very excited to be having a baby in the family again. As long as it isn't mine, that is. I don't plan on having any more kids unless I meet the Ultimate Prince Charming. Yet, I'm not getting my hopes up cuz I don't think he actually exists.
The Drunken Midgets, especially the youngest, are pretty excited too.
Now hopefully the youngest will stop pestering me for a little brother or sister. Or, maybe being around the baby will make her want one all the more, I don't know. But like I said, I'd only have more kids if I were married and I'd have to be married to somebody pretty damn perfect to even think of having any more kids.
And I'm certainly not doing it alone again, that is for sure! Raising two kids on my own is enough, thank you very much.
So, I don't know what I'm going to do with my day. When the Drunken Midgets get home we have the eldest's violin lesson and then we have to come home and clean before she goes to her dad's. The cleaning lady is coming on Sunday and I'll be damned if I'm going to clean it all myself.
But, until they get home, I have to work on my financial stuff, which I might actually put off until tomorrow cuz I'm going to see if I can go talk to my mom about it on Sunday.
I've been dreading this for months and I can't wait to get it over with.
I'm so screwed financially though, that $100 a month I have to pay Argosy is going to kill me. And not only are my bills going up but I have to cut down on my use of my mother's credit card. I am so screwed.
But, I'm not going to think about that now. For now I'm going to be in denial and enjoy it while I can.
So there.
In other news, Congress finally buckled and gave the Idiot King his war funding with no troop withdrawal date attached. Yeah, let's give the raving lunatic more money to wage his war. That makes so much sense. Haven't enough soldiers died in this war that cannot be won?
I was listening to NPR (National Public Radio) this morning and listened to a family talk about their experiences living in Bahgdad, or however you spell it. It was really sad, and made me really grateful for a lot of things, that's for sure. I got goosebumps listening to them talk, it was so tragic, this whole war is a tragedy that never should have happened.
And we just keep handing him blank checks and loads of more soldiers to send over there to die.
When will we learn?
And will we elect another Idiot to the Throne? Because, I don't think that We as a People have learned enough from Bush's Dictatorship. As long as we continue to fund this war, it just goes to show that we haven't learned a thing.
Over the span of the last two elections I have lost faith in the majority of the American People. It seems that so few in this country want to think for themselves. They'd rather just follow the loudest, most obnoxious, self righteous group of people there are. They'd rather be told what to think than to have to expend the energy to do it themselves.
This country needs a woman to run it. And not some Man-woman, you know who I mean, those women that get ahead because they lower themselves to play by men's rules in order to get the White Man's power. And, as much as I hate to use one of Rush Limbaugh's phrases, but we don't want some Femi-Nazi in office either. Not that one would ever get elected. And, I hate to say it, but they do exist and they give the rest of us Feminists a bad name cuz they are the ones who get all the press.
K, well I'm gonna hop down off of my Soapbox for now and go put in some music.

Fatal Strike--Again
So, it's all over the news. We finally killed a major terrorist in Iraq and now things will be so rosy red. Or not? Here's a non-propoganda version of this news byte courtesy of Buzzflash.com. There's also a bit about Bush Sr.'s recommendation that W. replace Rumsfeld and W.'s stubborn refusal to get rid of the freak. No one can accuse W. of making an attempt to rectify his mistakes, that's for sure.

Bush Worship
There is a fantabulous article in the Progressive Daily Beacon about Bush and his worshipers. It is interesting but also a little scary considering the fanaticism that follows him wherever he goes. It's a very well written article; I couldn't have said it better myself.
Here is a quote from the article:
"Those who have surrendered their power to reason and who bow to the current regime as if lobotomized are committing a kind of treason, for they have abandoned their clear duty to question the policies of this President -- and of any future President -- to point out and weigh the consequences of those policies, to examine with care his ideas and proposals, to judge his effectiveness as a leader, and above all to be well informed; in a word they have abandoned their primary civic responsibility: to think critically. Dangerous Double Standards
In reading an article in The Week online about Iran's nuclear weapons capability I have to wonder: Why is it that the U.S. has a huge stockpile of nuclear weapons but insists that no one else in the world should possess them? The Week quotes a Wall Street Journal editorial which states: 'Nobody wants another war...Still, the U.S. is wise to develop “a full range of military contingency plans,” if for no other reason than that Iran’s fanatical, unstable leaders simply cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons.' And I'm thinking, but Bush and his fanatical Christian fundamentalist oil cronies are stable enough to be trusted with nuclear weapons? Has anyone been paying attention to this administration and its lies and bully tactics? Doesn't everyone realize Bush wants to conquer as many nations as possible, especially the oil producing nations, no matter what the consequences to his country, or any other for that matter?
I just don't get it!!

Capitalism at its Best
So Bush's approval ratings are so low and he is so desperate to garner public approval that he'll even go so far as to make an attempt to lower gas prices here in the U.S. Too bad he's choosing to relax environmental laws to make it easier for the oil companies to get a profit--I mean lower gas prices. It seems to me that considering the oil companies record profits this last fiscal season he may want to dip into the pockets of the oil companies to ease our gas woes, but, that might cut into Daddy's income, which he hopes to live on once he leaves office. We wouldn't want that now would we?
Whatever!

What Took So Long???
So, Bush's approval ratings have hit an all-time low and are sitting at about 36%. I have only two questions for the American public: 1) How the hell is it that 36% of the population STILL thinks he's doing a good job after all the lies and obfuscations and this mess in Iraq?? (Not to mention the economy) 2) And to the other 64%: Why the hell did it take you so fucking long to realize what a failure this man is? Granted, some of us knew what a fuckwit he was from day one, but the fact that his approval rating was ever over zero testifies to the sheer stupidity of the majority of the American public!!!!
And, to point out once again, just for shits and giggles, that even when he was being impeached, Clinton's approval rating was around 75%. It just goes to show you that a small majority of the popluation controls politics today. Too bad it's the narrow minded, ignroant, religious zealots that are in control. That should scare EVERYBODY, no matter what country in which you live, or what religious affiliation you adhere to.

What a Fuckwit!
I don't know what's worse, the fact that George W. Bush lied AGAIN (No, we couldn't have anticipated the breaking of the levees) or that he was STUPID enough to lie about something when there was evidence to the contrary on VIDEOTAPE! HELLO!!! And explain to me again why we haven't impeached this man??? The fact that he has suffered no consequences for his lies and abuse of the office of president makes me ashamed to be an American. As the Impeach Bush Coalition says: "Won't somebody give this man head so we can impeach him?!?!?!?!?!?" He's a fuckwit and needs to be disposed of.

Very Funny
My brother sent me this joke and it cracked me up...
George Bush, Dick Cheney and Donald Rumsfeld are flying on Air Force
One.
The President looks at the Vice President, chuckles, and says, "You know, I could throw a $1,000 bill out the window right now and make somebody very happy."
The Vice President shrugs and says, "Well, I could throw 10 $100 bills out the window and make 10 people very happy."
Not to be outdone, the Secretary of Defense says, "Of course, then, I could throw 100 $10 bills out the window and make a hundred people very happy."
The pilot rolls his eyes and says to his co-pilot, "Such arrogant asses back there. Heck, I could throw the three of them out the window and make 56 million people really happy."
I know I'd be ecstatic!!! Hehehehehe

War Commercials?
Have you seen the new TV ads promoting the war? They have soldiers that served in Iraq come on and talk about how just the war is and how all the terrorists from 9/11 and all other terrorist attacks since practically the beginning of time have come from Iraq. Didn't we debunk that a long ass time ago? The 9/11 terrorists were NOT from Iraq, so why the fuck are we there other than Bush's insane desire for world conquest and his thirst for oil? These ads make me so angry I get physically ill. I hate that bastard and his damn war and now he's trying to market it on TV? What the fuck is that about?

Black Gold
The numbers have been crunched and the figures show RECORD PROFITS for the oil companies this past year. Thanks to their buddy Dubya and his 'holy war', they raked in more profits this year than any other year, EVER! So much for all their bitching and whining about how much money they were losing due to the hurricane. God I hate that man and his greedy oil cartel. Think I'd get bad Karma if I cursed hm? I mean if anyone in the world deserves it he does. But, if there's going to be karmic repurcussions he's just not worth it.
Okay then, I'm off to Urinalysis. Yippy skippy!

Chicken Hawk Bastard

It happened last night. The call I've been dreading for the last year and a half, the call I've prayed again and again I would never receive. The love of my life, one of the only decent men I've known, the most loving, caring, generous man in the world is being deployed to Iraq. He's being sent to war by a man who was too cowardly or coked up to serve his country when his number came up, but has no problem risking the lives of the soldiers in his charge. And why? Why are we losing soldiers every damn day? So people can drive around in their SUVs and Hummers, slap a 'Support Our Troops' sticker on the back, like if they weren't using all the damn oil we'd even be in Iraq, and pretend that makes it all okay. They call it a 'Holy War', dress it up in sanctimoniuos finery and pretend it's a war against evil. It's not a war against evil, it's a war for greed, for power, for OIL! What about what's going on in the Sudan, in all the other countries in the world where people are being killed, women and children being raped and tortured, why aren't we there? Because there's no fucking oil. It makes me sick. People talk about Saddam and how he experimented on his own people, like our government didn't do that all through the Cold War. Hasn't anyone ever heard of 'The Plutonium Files'? The report that detailed the many atrocities this governemnt commited against its own citizens during the Nuclear Arms Race era? Well, maybe that's because the government conveniently decided to release it to the press on the same day as the OJ Simpson verdict. Like anyone paid attention.
I'm damn tired of living in a country run by greedy, heartless, hypocritical, bastards that think they can do whatever they want and kill whoever they want in the name of god. Today I'm ashamed to call myself a U.S. citizen. I think I'll take Eddie Izzard's advice and tell people I'm Canadian! The Chicken Hawk and his Cartel make me SICK! I'd say a whole lot more, but thanks to the good 'ol USA Patriot Act I'd probably better shut my mouth now before I get myself in trouble. Like Voltaire said, 'It's dangerous to be right when the government is wrong'. Has anyone else noticed that free speech is getting villified more and more with each passing day? And people wonder why I don't post my pic on this blog-if I did they'd be coming at me with flames and pitchforks!

Messiah Complex in the Oval Office
Can I vomit now please?
The fact that George W. the Warrior Prince fancies himself to be a spiritual man disgusts me and makes me feel sick to my stomach. Granted, I don’t find most Christians to be spiritual so much as dogmatically religious, but I don’t understand how he can claim allegiance to any God, even the Christian one. He just radiates a vile maliciousness that is even more disturbing in light of his fierce religiosity and unrivaled stupidity. It is painfully clear to anyone who has a thought not fed to them by the mainstream media that his only concern is for himself, how much power he can amass, and how many countries he can conquer. This former cocaine addict turned Christian (supposedly) now clings to the fantasy that he is a Warrior for God, a Messiah that all the sheep will blindly follow as he decimates their enemy and fulfills Biblical prophecy with the blood of our soldiers. Anyone else who claimed to believe this would be sedated, strapped to a bed in the psych ward, and fed a steady diet of psychotropic meds, but instead we crown him King? We put the lives of our soldiers in his hands? What the hell is that? Can’t anyone see that he is a Wolf among sheep? I know sheep are stupid by nature but come on people, get a CLUE!

The Downing Street Memo
Has anyone out there heard of the Downing Street Memo? I don’t know how prevalent it is in the mainstream media as I refuse to read it due to the fact that it is nothing more than a mouthpiece for the White House and generally does not question the Village Idiot’s more than obvious lies and obfuscations. So, just in case many of you out there in cyberspace haven’t heard of it I will summarize it for you. Basically it is a memo leaked to the press that proves our Village Idiot in Chief knew that Iraq was NOT AN IMMANENT THREAT to our country and that invading for the purpose of regime change was illegal so “it was necessary to create the conditions” which would make it legal. This involved using the UN to give Saddam an ultimatum that they hoped he would refuse thus giving our Village Idiot reason to invade. If anyone cares to read the article in its entirety I found it in the British Times: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2087-1650822_1,00...
I can’t speak for any of you but this really pisses me off as those of us NOT fooled by the smoke Bush has been blowing up our collective ass for the last five years have known since day one that Iraq was not an immanent threat but in voicing our opinion we were labeled as ‘unpatriotic’ and ‘traitors’. Of course the White House refuses to respond to questions concerning this memo so there is a petition being circulated to force this Administration to pull its head out of its ass and offer the public some answers. Thus far Bush and his Cartel have done whatever they pleased and molded the facts to suit their purposes while a majority of Americans have buried their heads in the proverbial sand and it’s time we stand united and DEMAND that he be held accountable for his lies. How many more of our soldiers have to die before the American public wakes up and forces this man to stop his illegal war based on nothing more than carefully constructed lies? This is OUR government people, and its damn time WE TAKE IT BACK!
You can sign the petition at: http://www.downingstreetmemo.com/
Please, take five minutes out of your life to sign this petition; we owe it those who have died, and to those who will die, in this war Bush has created.

Support Our Troops, NOT Bush!
Yes, I’m here again and I’m in an “I hate Bush and all his fascist buddies” mood in case you can’t tell. But, then I always get that way on the days I have to fill up my car with the liquid gold. I hope Bush and Cheney are enjoying my money…no wait I hope they choke on it and…well, I’ll stop there or I might get into some trouble seeing as how free speech and free thinking sit right next to Saddam in the Axis of Evil these days.
SO, if Bush’s economic policies hadn’t devoured my already thin budget I’d buy some of these bumper stickers cause I think they’re damn funny and very apropos. I found them on this website: http://dontblamemeivoted4kerry.com/
