Bored Now
I had so many things to blog about, but now that I'm at the computer, of course I can't think of any of them.
Let's see... Oh, the eldest got her permit yesterday, and I let her drive around a parking lot for a while, then through our neighborhood a couple times. Once she got onto the right side of the road, she was okay, though her exceleration skills are a bit unrefined. She has a tendancy to floor it, then slow down, then floor it again. She's getting better at it though.
So she spent the entire night emphatically repeating, "I love to drive" over and over and over again.
The youngest came to the experience armed with her bicycle helmet, so she was prepared in the event of any unfortunate accidents.
The youngest is growing ever more excited about her birthday party on the 28th, which I suppose I had better start preparing for sometime soon. There's not much I can do at this point as I am dead broke again. I got paid yesterday and it was gone before it even came into my account cuz I wrote out a bunch of checks the day before. I did splurge and spend a little bit of money at Half Price Books, but not much, just enough to get a few books to entertain us when we have nothing to do. But, keeping my kids occupied falls under the category of a neccessity, and it was a rather inexpensive way to go about it, so I don't feel guilty about it.
I haven't been reading False Memory for the last couple days, I'm beginning to realize that I must have read it years ago when it first came out, cuz I recognize the story. Not enough to ruin the ending, so it must have been a lot of years ago, so it's still really riveting. I've just been too restless to read lately.
I so have to call to get Sally in for that tune up. I just realized yesterday that we're leaving next Friday for vacation, so I have to get her in ASAP. I hope that they aren't really busy with people preparing to leave town on the 4th.
I just have to ask, what the hell happened to June? I can't believe it's the Summer Solstice already. I don't what we're going to do to celebrate it, but I want to do something. I've been a very bad Witch the last few holidays, not doing anything to acknowledge them, but they come up on me so fast.
In other news, I have no other news.

Witchy Stuff, and Some Other Blather
It is that awful, vile, nefarious time of year again. Spring Break! The kids are home all week and already driving me totally insane. I'm ready to ship them off to live with the gypsies! Or maybe I'll go live with the gypsies and leave them this place to trash to their little hearts' content.
I did a ritaul yesterday and cleansed all my tools, and did a couple of spells. I have a few more spells I want to do, but I need to do them in the living room when the girls aren't around cuz doing them in that cramped corner I have my altar in makes my pain so much worse cuz there's no room to move around and my muscles get very sore. I could only do a couple spells yesterday before I was in too much pain and had to stop.
Besides, in the living room I can cast a proper Circle by marking the perimiter with stones and walking around with the Elements and my athamae, drawing up the Circle around me. At my room altar I have to energetically cast the Circle by only visulizing it and I am horrible at visualizing things. I still have to imagine the Circle being raised when I cast a proper circle, but I have more ritual tools to help me do that so it's a bit easier.
So, I'm going to do that when the girls are back at school next week.
I also want to make some more incenses. I want to make Joy incense which is Allspice, Cloves and Nutmeg, if I remember correctly. I also want to make some Wishing incense which is Cinnamon, Bay Leaves, and Ginger.
Another good incense is Fire incense which is Cinnamon and Ginger. It's good to use when you have been procrastinating or need a boost of personal energy. I should burn some of that today, I have a few phone calls to make and I've been putting it off for a while now, but it needs to get done.
I was so excited, I stopped at The Healing Source in the Eden Prairie Center and picked up some Dragon's Blood incense, which I've been looking for forever. I also picked up some self burning charcol peices to burn incense so I don't have to use sawdust, which sometimes mutes the scent of the herbs.
I bought a few stones too. A Red Jasper, Turquoise, three Apache's Tears, and some Jade.
I was pretty satisfied with my purchases. I have my stones in the freezer right now, which is a good way to cleanse them. Then if it ever clears up I'll set them in the moonlight with my tools to charge them with the power of the Goddess. The Moon only hits my balcony when it is full so it has to clear up within the next day or two or I'll have to wait until the next full Moon. I want to set them out in the Sun too, to fill them with the power of the God, but once again, it has to be clear skies for that.
And damn it, it's supposed to snow today. When oh when is Spring coming???? I thought it was here last week when we had that one day that was 85 degrees F, but then the temps dropped dramatically the next day and it's been cold ever since. The high today is only supposed to be 38.
I'm so sick and tired of cold and rain and snow, and not just because it makes my pain worse. I want it to be nice damn it, so I can go for a nature walk or sit out in the grass against the tree and absorb the power of the Earth. I've been so tired and sore cuz of the weather, and my personal power is very limited right now because of it, I need to get back to nature and recharge.
Well, I'm off to watch Charmed.

Feeling Talkative Today
Thank Goddess my house is finally clean! I spent all day yesterday and most of this morning picking up and then the cleaning lady came and did the floors, bathrooms and vacuumed and it looks fantastic in here!! Now I just have to get on the girls to keep it this way cuz I'm tired of living in a mess cuz they don't want to pick up after themselves.
I'm going to start calling on apartments and townhouses tomorrow to prepare for moving. I'm praying and praying I can get into a 2 bedroom plus den so my kids could have their own rooms, so we'll see. I'm going to see if I can find a spell that would help things along. I have a spell to own the home you want, but none for renting, I can probably use the owning one anyway, I don't see why not. I just want to get the perfect place for us so I don't have to move for a very, very long time.
I bought a few new things for my altar. I'm totally redoing it. I took the Buddha and Goddess statues off cuz they were so big and took up so much room. I'm going to try to find some smaller statues to honor the Lord and Lady, but for now I'm going to add two glass bowls, one for salt, which I'll put on the North side of the altar, cuz North is the Element Earth. Then I have one for spring water, which goes in the West cuz that is the realm of Water. And then I have a libation bowl to offer wine and cakes to the Goddess and God during rituals. I also bought a couple candles I can use for lighting the candles I use in rituals and spells. And of course, I bought some pretty crystal candle holders. In the South quadrant of my alter I'm going to put a red candle for fire and my athamae and in the East quadrant will go my incense since that is the realm of air.
I'll take a picture of it when it's all done and post it here later.
I also want to get some fresh flowers to put on there for spring and in anticipation of Beltane on May 1. I love Beltane. I'm going to have the girls leave milk and cakes out for the fairies on Beltane eve with a wish from each of them, then by the time of the next full moon, the fairies will have granted their wish. I think that will be fun for them.
I'm going to do a full blown ritual sometime soon, but I'm not sure when. Maybe on Beltane. I want to look through my spell books to see what spells I want to cast. I need to do a money spell, and I want to do a banishing spell to banish negativity from my life, but beyond that I'm not sure. It will depend on what the moon is doing. It's not a good idea to do a money spell when the moon is waning, for instance.
I'd also like to do a dedication ritual to dedicate myself to the Craft. I haven't done that yet. I think I've picked out my magical name, at least I had picked it out a long time ago, but now I might want to change it. I'm not sure.
With my next student loan check I'm going to purchase some more things for my altar, like a bell, a couple altar cloths and a nice metal pentacle. I'd also like to get a ritual robe too. I'm going to pick up some other supplies like some more crystals and essential oils. I also want to get another tattoo soon too. I'm not sure what I'll get next. I'm saving the one I want to get the most, the one of a wolf or wolves on my low back, for when I graduate. That will be my graduation present to myself. In the meantime I'd like to get something small and Pagan oriented maybe on my other wrist. The one I want to do, which is to extend my celtic knot on my right wrist into a lotus flower with the Buddha meditating on it on my hand, but I can't do that one cuz you can't tattoo your hand anymore in Minnesota. At least that's what I've heard.
So, I'm not sure what I'll get. Maybe I'll get that anklet I wanted. I wish I could find a picture of it on the internet again so I could show it to you. I have a pic of it I printed out, but I don't have a scanner to put it on my puter.
I need to get a new printer cuz it won't print in black anymore. It won't even try to print in black, just spits the paper right through. I want to get one that is a scanner, copier, and fax machine too. That way if I ever decide to do any freelance writing I'll have everything I need to do it.
I am so ready for the temperatures to be in the 60's and 70's. I'm am ready for spring. I'm tired of cold and snow. Most of our snow is gone, but the high has only been between 40 and 50 degreees. That's just not warm enough for me. Although, when it does warm up I'm going to be screwed cuz I have no shorts. I have plenty of short sleeved shirts, but no shorts to go with them. And no money to buy any with since my student loan check is gone. **sigh** It went so fast, but we needed so many things I've been putting off buying cuz I didn't want to have to ask my mom for money.
So, at least we have almost everything we need and the money was all well spent. That's something anyway.
Well, that's all I got for now.

Tarot Rules Again
I totally forgot I had done a Tarot reading a bit ago, right after he contaced me again after that four months and the cards warned me not to get too excited about our 'new beginning' cuz he wasn't telling me everything and that things didn't look good for us.
So, I can't say I wasn't warned! Once again the cards were 100% on!
Just had to share.
I'm off to class. Yuck.

Hammering, Homework, and Mabon
OMG! It is 9:30 on a Saturday morning and I'm trying to enjoy the peace and tranquility before my girls wake up. And do you want to know why I can't? Because the guy downstairs is building or fixing something and hammering away. To make matters worse, every damn time he hammers the dog across the street starts barking. It is infuriating. Can't the wanker wait until at least 10:00 before he starts hammering away? How rude! And, the people across the street, can they not hear their dog barking? If I had a dog outside yapping away, I'd bring it in the house so as not to disturb the neighbors. It seems to me to be the considerate thing to do.
Sometimes I hate people.
Other than those minor annoyances, I am actually in a good mood today despite the blinding pain in my back and neck, not to mention my head. Until the dude started hammering it was nice and quiet and I've been catching up on blogs and watching Dharma and Greg. The Midgets are sleeping in and I'm thrilled to not have to go to school today or do homework. I'll do that tomorrow morning when there is nothing on tv. It should only take me a couple hours to read the chapter on Staphyloccocus and do a worksheet on anemias.
Despite my tendency to complain about having to go to class I am actually very glad to be back in school. It's good to be back among the adult population again and I love learning despite the fact that the subject matter can, at times, be a bit boring. I'm glad I chose this field of study. I think I will enjoy working if I can work through the pain.
The youngest Drunken Midget is very excited to have a birthday party sleepover to go to today. It will be nice to have some time alone with the eldest. Or, if she ends up going to a movie with friends like she talked about, it will be nice to have some time to myself.
I am so happy that the temperatures finally dropped and it is starting to feel like fall. It is my favorite season. I bought a few more decorations and after the cleaning lady comes--she cancelled yesterday which was no surprise--I'm going to decorate the house. I'm looking forward to that. I love decorating for fall/Samhain.
And Mabon--or the Autumnal Equinox--is coming up. It is the last holiday before Samhain, which is my favorite holiday and the beginning of the Witches New Year. I'm going to spend some time this weekend cleaning my altar and decorating it for fall. I've neglected it for way too long. I've been neglecting my spiritual side in general cuz I've been feeling a bit spiritually confused, but I'm going to change that by starting with my altar. I need to cleanse my athame too. Then I'm going to do a couple of spells.
I also want to do something else that I suddenly forgot. Damn it, I hate it when that happens.
Well, if I remember, I'll be back.

Cleansing Incenses
We have been at each others throats over here. I think I need to do a good cleansing. I haven't done one since right after we moved in last year. I have a white sage smudge I'd like to try, but I don't know how much it's going to smoke and I don't want to set off the sprinklers or anything. Otherwise, I can use an incense made of sage, rosemary, and thyme. That's a very strong cleansing incense. Alternately I could burn some basil to rid the house of negativity. Regardless of which way I end up cleansing my home I'm going to sprinkle basil in all the corners of all the rooms. That's a good way to protect your home from the negative energy of those around you. It's especially helpful in an apartment since you are so close to your neighbors and their negative energy can seep into your apartment.
Hopefully a good cleansing will take care of everything. Then I'm going to whip up some of my happiness incesne (I posted the recipe a few posts back under Witchy Stuff) and burn some of that in each room of the house. I hope it helps cuz if it doesn't the rest of this summer is really going to suck. We are all driving each other crazy!
That way, if I do the cleansing before our company from France comes, my house will be all clean and free of residual negative energy. It's good to do a cleansing like this once a year, or more if you're under a lot of stress or are living with people who attract negative energy or are addicted to drama. I've known quite a few people like that in my time and I finally had to cut them from my life cuz I just couldn't take their drama and negativity anymore. It's exhausting. People like that are hard to get rid of too, they are like a cancer, they just keep coming back. I have one guy that still calls me every few weeks even though I never answer the phone or return his calls. Can't some people take a hint?
Anyways, I'd better get ready, we're going to see Pirates 2 in forty five minutes.

A Spell for Victory
I haven't posted a spell for a while, so I thought I would post one now. This is a spell for general victory. I got it out of my Everyday Magic book.
Take three bay leaves (you can use fresh or dried--they usually have them in the produce department of the grocery store) and empower them by chanting this as you hold them in your hand:
Laurel of the Ancient Ones
Let your power to me come
Grant Success and strength to me
As I will, so mote it be.
Now, the book says you only need to chant that once, but I chant it three times because in Celtic magick they believe a spell won't work unless you incorporate the number three into it somehow. While I don't think the spell won't work if you dont, the number three signifies the Goddess in her three forms, Maiden, Mother, and Crone, so I like to use it in all my spells somehow to give them more power. Oh, and after you chant, imagine that you are achieving the victory you seek. For instance, I use this spell every time I have a test and I imagine knowing all the answers as I take it and then receiving a good grade when I'm done. Then, carry the leaves with you until you recieve your victory.

Weight Loss Spell
This is the spell I plan to do today to help me lost weight. I got the basic spell from the Complete Idiot's Guide to Wicca and Witchcraft and made some of my own modifications. It goes like this.
Needed:
Black Candle
Myrrh oil (optional)
Basil (Optional)
1. Take the candle and carve into it the rune Ur (you can look it up online as I can't type it in), which is for quick change, strength, determination and good health. (This is my addition and totally optional)
2. Carve the number of pounds you want to lose into the candle.
3. Mix the Myrrh oil and Basil together (be sure to mix the myrrh with a carrier oil such as grapeseed or vegetable oil so you don't burn your skin, it's too concentrated to use by itself.) Annoint the candle. (This is also my addition and totally optional. These herbs are good for banishing, in this case, banishing the extra pounds)
4. Empower the candle with your intent and chant:
As this candle melts away
So do the pounds that hold me sway
As each day passes I will be
Closer to a thinner me
This is my will, so mote it be!
As you can see, I made a few additions to this spell to strenghten it, however, if you don't have the other materials available you can just carve the number of pounds you want to lose in the candle, empower it and say the chant. Then let the candle burn all the way down. Even without my additions it can be a powerful spell if your intent is strong enough. Intent is the most important part of the spell.
P.S. If you don't have a black candle, as they can be hard to come by, you can substitute white.

New Witchy Stuff
Yesterday the girls and I went to Magus Books and Herbs and I got some new stuff for my altar. I bought a brass censer to burn incense in, an athame, a few crystals, a moonstone, a piece of hematite and some mugwort and wormwood to make psychic incense. I love that store, but I always spend way too much when I'm there. You probably don't care but here are some pics of my new athame anyway. :-)

Incense
One of my favorite things to do with magick is to make my own incense. If you can get your hands on some sawdust or self-igniting charcol things you can easily make incense at home with herbs you probably have in your kitchen. Here are a couple recipes that I made up.
1. Study Incense
Rosemary
Sage
Cinnamon
Nutmeg
Mix these herbs together with the sawdust and burn while you study or read. This incense will open up your memory channels and help you to abosrb knowledge. It also smells really good too.
2. Happiness Incense
Cloves
Marjoram
Rosemary
Basil
Mix them together and burn anytime you feel down or depressed.
3. Fire Incense
Cinnamon
Ginger
Mix these and burn anytime you need motivation or physical energy.
Whenever you make your incense, as you mix the herbs picture your intent as you mix them. Intent goes a long way in magick. For instance, if you make study incense, as you mix it picture yourself reading and retaining everything you read. I like to image my brain soaking up everything it learns like a sponge. And, you don't have to be in school to use the study incense, use it anytime you want to remember whatever you are reading.

Wish Spell
I figure everyone has wishes, so here is a simple wish spell you can do. Take a Bay Leaf, write your wish on it--be specific. A fine line Sharpie works best for writing on the leaf. If you have vanilla extract dab a bit of it on the leaf after you've written your wish on it. If you have any, sprinkle cinnamon for extra power. Put the leaf in a box with a lid until it comes true. Burn it to the Ancients in thanksgiving.
FYI, to strengthen any spell, program a clear quartz crystal with your intent, and leave it with the spell or carry it all on your person.

A Money Spell
I have received multiple emails from people asking for more of my spells. While I do plan to send everyone who inquires some spells, espcially any requests, I thought I would occasionally post spells that everyone could use. Like this candle Money Spell from the book, How to be a Wicked Witch:
Needed:
Green or gold colored candle--I prefer votives
Patchouli oil (or vegetable oil and basil, or cinammon)
Carve into a green or gold colored candle dollar signs and annoint it with patchouli oil (associated with financial security). Light this, saying something like: 'As this candle decreases, may my money increase. As I will, so mote it be.' Let the candle burn completely out.
Now, if you don't have patchouli you can make your own oil with any kind of vegetable, olive, or fruit oil, mixed with some powdered herbs. These are herbs you can substitute for the patchouli oil:
Bay Leaf
Basil
Cinnomon
Marjoram
Parsely
Sunflower
Vanilla (you can use vanilla extract)
Another easy money spell is to carry a copy of the Nine of Pentacles in your wallet. That will ensure there is enough money to go around. You can find images of all the tarot cards online, just copy and paste them into Word, and then print them out on your computer so you don't have to buy them or remove a card from a deck you may use frequently.
K, hope those help.

Karmic Retribution Spell
I've had a lot of requests for my Karmic Retribution spell so instead of emailing it to everyone individually I thought I would just post it here for everyone.
Needed:
Picture of person, or their name written on a piece of paper
Tin Foil (or any other shiny reflective paper)
Sunflower seeds
Take the picture or the name of the person and wrap it in the tin foil, shiny side inward, along with some sunflower seeds (which represent truth). Tie the bundle with some white thread so it is secure and say:
Away from me your negativity;
Whatever you send out returns
In your mind the truth burns.
I found this spell in the book "How to be a Wicked Witch: Good Spells, Charms, Potions and Notions for Bad Days". I like it because it simply returns to the person in question any Karma they already deserve with no Karmic consequences on your behalf.
I have a whole Book of Shadows full of spells so if there's something anyone else needs, just ask!
